It is a sturdy, deciduous shrub with upright growth that can reach up to 4m in height. It blooms from May to June with large, frightening and highly fragrant inflorescences. The morphology and colors of the flowers differ depending on the variety. Lilac is a plant that adapts to most soil types and does not require special treatments. Usually the flowering stems need to be removed at the end of flowering. It adapts better to sunny planting locations.
